Better Business Cases™ - Foundation
The Better Business Cases™ method helps organisations to understand the requirements of investment initiatives and increases the likelihood of success. By learning the Better Business Case™ method you can add value to your organisation and improve decision making. Our trainers are experienced business people and will teach you how to apply this method effectively and efficiently.
By attending the two-day Foundation Course you will gain the knowledge and understanding of the Five Case model required to either work with a team, or as a member of a team developing a business case using the model.
The course covers:
- The underlying rationale for the Five Case Model
- The different types of business case, their purpose, who is responsible for them and when they are used in the development of a spending proposal
- How the development of the Five Case Model fits with other recommended best practice such as PRINCE2® and MSP®
The five key questions addressed by the model are;
- Is there a compelling case for change?
- Does the preferred investment option give value for money?
- is the proposed deal commercially viable?
- Is the spending proposal affordable?
- How can the proposal be delivered successfully?
Participants will receive:
- Copies of all course materials
- A selection of templates and tools

- The Foundation exam, a 40 minute, 50 question multiple choice exam. The Foundation qualification is a pre-requisite for the Practitioner course and qualification.

Foundation - 2 days - By attending the Foundation Course you will gain the knowledge and understanding of the Five Case model required to either work with a team, or to be a member of a team developing a business case using the model.
Practitioner – 2 days - The content of the Practitioner course covers all the aspects of preparing a business case using the Five Case Model. You will explore and understand the 10 steps required to develop a business case using the Five Case Model through a mixture of classroom learning and practical exercises.
